VoterVoice maintains an in-depth database of information regarding your elected officials, and there are three primary ways you may want to access that information.
Downloading the Elected Official Database
1. Open the “Elected Officials” Page
- In the VoterVoice dashboard, navigate via the top menu:
People → Elected Officials
- This opens a page organized with accordion tabs, each representing a level of government (e.g., Federal, State, Local).
In the top right corner under each heading is a "Download CSV" button. Click that to download the information for all legislators at that level of government.

Searching for Constituents
You can search for contacts who live or work in particular districts pretty easily. Go to People > Search Contacts and opt to perform a new search. Under the search field, scroll down to the grouping of Advocacy fields and choose either officials (to search by the legislator's name), districts (to search by district number), or committee (to search for all committee members' constituents).

Adding Official Information to Your In-House Database
Advanced-level clients have access to our API. A developer on your end can use these calls to
- validate an address,
- look up the officials who represent that address,
- and then use that to update user records in your in-house database.
Alternative Access: API (Advanced Users)
For a programmatic approach, advanced-level clients can retrieve legislator data via VoterVoice's API:
- Contact vvsupport@fiscalnote.com to request an encrypted API key.
- Use API calls to:
- Validate an address
- Retrieve elected officials for that address
- Update internal systems with official data.
