With the new VoterVoice Compose page experience, you have greater control over the look and feel of the email broadcasts you send. You can create new email templates at any time or quickly update existing templates with just a few clicks.
Content Blocks
Content Blocks allow you to create flexible sections of content that can be easily duplicated, reordered, or removed. We’ve taken the elements clients use most often and organized them into these ready-made content blocks.
To add a new Content Block, click the plus (+) icon and select the type of block you want to insert.
Content Block Types
Text- A flexible, freeform content block that allows you to add anything you need using the editor, including text, images, tables, links, and more. This functions similarly to the single editable section available in the previous Compose page.
Columns- Allows you to add two side-by-side content columns that will automatically stack for optimal viewing on mobile devices.
Action Alert- Inserts the action alert text directly from your campaign, petition, or other advocacy activity. This block is only available when you are sending a Call to Action broadcast.
Image- Allows you to upload an image and customize its width, alignment, caption, and alternative text.
Button- Allows you to quickly create a button and link it to a webpage or directly to a VoterVoice campaign, petition, event, and more.
Social Media Icons- Allows you to add icons linked to your social media pages. If a link is not provided for a particular platform, its icon will not appear in the final email.
Divider- Allows you to add a styled divider.
Content Block Controls
You don’t need to get everything perfect on your first try. Each content block includes controls on either side that allow you to move, duplicate, or delete it.
Reorder- Use the arrows on the left side of a content block to move it up or down within your email.
Clone- Click the clone button to create a copy of the content block. The duplicate will appear directly below the original block
Delete- Use the delete button to remove a content block.
Styles
You can set default global styles for your broadcasts. These styles are linked to the templates you create, allowing you to maintain consistent formatting for the types of emails you send most often.
Body- Use these settings to adjust the overall background color, padding around the email content, and divider styles.
Fonts- Use the font styles to set the font family, size, color, etc. along with specific styles for the Headings.
Buttons and Links- Use these styles to set the colors of links and the colors, shape, padding, and styles for buttons.
Note: These settings control the default styles for your email templates. If you make changes directly within a content block, those adjustments will override the global styles. This means you can bold text, change paragraph colors, or apply bulleted lists without affecting other content in your email.
Saving a Template
Once you have the structure and styles set as your desire, click the "Save this template" button toward the top of the Compose page.
This allows you to save your work as a new template or to save it as an adjustment to an existing template.
