Overview Insights provides you with a wholistic view of recent changes to your contact list and advocacy activity. Moreover, it automatically compares those recent changes to the appropriate numbers from either the previous time period of equal length (such as last month compared to the previous month) or the same time period from the previous year.
Across the very top, you will see the following statistics:
- Total Contacts (everyone in your contacts database)
- Total Advocates (everyone who has taken action on anything in VoterVoice)
- Recent Advocates (everyone who has taken action within the past year)
- Total Advocacy Actions (the number of actions created in VoterVoice)
- Total Broadcasts Sent (the number of broadcasts you have initiated through VoterVoice)
Next, you will see a date range selector and the option to compare metrics from that date range to either the previous time period or the same time period from the previous year. The default date range is 7 days, but you can set anything you would like. All metrics and graphs below are dependent upon the date range you select.
These include:
- the number of contacts who have been added to your database
- the number of people who have taken action for the first time
- the total number of advocacy actions people have taken
- the average action rate for your broadcasts
- the number of visitors to your action center (shown by date)
- the number of advocacy actions taken (shown by date)
- the advocates who have taken the most actions (expandable)
- the advocacy campaigns with the most actions (expandable)
- the number of advocacy actions taken (broken up by campaigns, petitions, surveys, etc...)
- the broadcasts with the highest action rates (expandable)
- the number of actions by state
If using this data to create benchmarks to measure your organization's legislative success, simply set the date range at the top to the appropriate time frame. You'll likely want to look at full calendar years, half years, quarters, and perhaps even months to track the ebb and flow of activity in your system.
