When you drive your supporters to VoterVoice campaigns through ads, you may want to get some metrics on their relative performance. This article explains the best way to collect that information.
Overview
Our new Tracking Tags Page allows your organization to track ad performance through your advertising vendors by adding in tracking javascript and image pixels (tags) to your advocacy actions. You no longer have to reach out to the Support team to get tracking pixel scripts added.
Key Features
Adding Tracking Tags
Tracking Tags can be added in either the centralized page “Tracking Tags” found under settings, or in the Promote section of any advocacy action (campaigns, surveys, petitions, events). Click “Add Tag” or “Create Tracking Tag.”
If you’re adding a tag from the main Tracking Tags page, you will see an option to pick which advocacy action to tie the tag to. If you’re adding from the Promote page of an advocacy action, you see the following screenshot below.
Here you choose whether to apply this tag to the Alert and/or the Confirmation pages of that advocacy action. You then enter in the tracking javascript or image pixel. The system will automatically detect which type of tag has been added and confirm that to the administrator. Next, hit "Save" at the bottom of the pop-up below.
You’ll then see the tag added to the list. If you need to add multiple tags, you will need to add them one at a time, repeating the steps above.
Managing Existing Tags
Tags can be edited or deleted either from the main Tracking Tags page, found in Settings, or in the Promote page of the specific advocacy action that has the tag applied.
The Tracking Tags page allows you to search and filter based on the tags that were added:
Tags Currently Supported:
- Google Tag Manager
- Google Analytics
- Google Ad
- Facebook / Meta Pixel
- Genius Monkey
- Stack Adapt
- Xandr Universal Pixel
- Tracking Pixels (generally any 1x1 URL in an image tag should be supported)
