Please note that completing this process is required before you can send any SMS broadcasts and before you can have a customized response when someone signs up for texting via a keyword. |
In order to prevent fraudulent activity, mobile carriers such as AT&T and Verizon require that any organization that sends SMS broadcasts must register with them. VoterVoice has created an interface to make that registration requirement easy for you. The registration process involves three steps and takes some time for the carriers to approve, so you should register before you need to send an urgent SMS broadcast.
To access the registration tool, click on the profile icon on the top-right corner of the VoterVoice administrator site. Then click on Settings, and choose the option for SMS Carrier Registration.
Step 1: Business Profile
Step 1 requires that you enter business information such as your organization’s name, physical address, website, industry, and the information of two authorized contacts. You will have to save and submit this step, then wait for approval before proceeding to Step 2.
Step 2: Brand
Step 2 asks for general information about the type of organization you are: public, private, non-profit, or government. If you are with a publicly traded company, you will need to enter which stock exchange you're listed on and the stock ticker. You will have to save and submit this step, then wait for approval before proceeding to Step 3.
Step 3: Campaign Use Cases
Step 3 asks for details about your intended use case. The proper options for driving contacts to advocacy campaigns with embedded links should be prepopulated for you once you select the appropriate use case.
Approval for this step is known to take a long time, so please make sure you submit it as soon as possible. Unfortunately, VoterVoice is not able to expedite the process because approval is handled directly by the carriers(Twilio)
