From the profile icon (the circle with your initials at the top-right corner of the admin site), choose "Settings", and then choose the "Action Center" option. This Action Center Settings page allows you to do the following:
- Control what tools are displayed on the home page of the Action Center
- Customize the welcome email members receive the first time they take action.
- Control which fields are displayed in the user profile
- Get the plugin code used to pull the VoterVoice content into your webpage
- Set the redirection URL so that votervoice.net links go to the Action Center on your page
- Adjust the color scheme of the VoterVoice content
- Add a logo for the top of your mobile optimized display
- Add a custom area to your Election Center
Action Center Widgets
Would you like to hide the Find Legislation and Scorecard tools because you feature those on other pages? Would you like to have "Find Officials" become "Legislator Lookup"? Would you like to move the Blog Posts widget to the bottom of the list?
The default version of the plugin code shows everything that is active in your VoterVoice system and even the ability to add a Twitter feed, but you can adjust which widgets / tools are visible on that page, what they're called, and in what order they appear via these controls. Click the toggles to the left to show or hide widgets, change the text to change the tool title, or click the arrows to the right to change their order.
Welcome Email
When your supporters first take action in the VoterVoice system, they receive a welcome email.
With the toggle at the top, you can disable the welcome email entirely if you wish to do so.
Otherwise, you can use the subject and body text fields to customize the default language in the welcome email. Feel free to insert your organization's branding, link supporters to valuable resources, prompt them to sign up for text messaging, take further actions on your behalf, and inform members as to what they can expect moving forward. This is a great way to further engage and develop relationships with your supporters.
Once you have made the edits you want, just click the "publish global settings" button at the top-rigt corner of the page.
Advocate Profile Fields
Would you like to capture your supporters' business information when they take action on a campaign? Would you like to collect event registrants' phone numbers?
In any advocacy action, your supporters need to fill out fields in the advocate profile. By default, the minimum necessary fields are shown for each type of action, but the controls shown above allow you to adjust those fields. To choose the type of action, click on the tabs labeled Advocacy, Events, Petitions, Registration, and Surveys. To display more fields in the profile for that tool, click the toggles below to adjust "hidden" to "visible" or vice versa.
Note that this interface will not include custom fields. Those are still controlled via People > Custom Fields.
Get the Plugin Code
Would you like to move your action center to your website instead of having VoterVoice host the page for you? Would you like to install a signup form on its own page? Would you like to show off the bill search on a page designed specifically for that purpose?
This tool will allow you to pull a plugin code for either the home page (which shows everything active in VoterVoice) or a specific tool. Simply use the "Feature" dropdown to select the tool you want, and you will be given an embed code that will default straight to that tool when installed on your webpage.
Set the Redirection URL in VoterVoice
Would you like to have VoterVoice redirect to your page instead of the page we are hosting for you? Would you like to move the VoterVoice content to a different page on your site without risking your supporters being sent to a 404 page?
These tools allow you to set your own redirection URL so that you do not have to send that to vvsupport@fiscalnote.com and let the Support Team set it for you. After you install the embed code on your site, just enter the URL of the page with that code in the field shown above to ensure that all votervoice.net links redirect supporters to your page.
Adjust the Color Scheme
Would you like to update the colors in VoterVoice to match your new branding? Would you like to change the color of our buttons so they stand out a little more?
Here, you can enter the hex code of the primary color, button color, and text color you want for your action center.
Add a Mobile Logo
When you supporters view your action center on a mobile device, would you like them to see a logo instead of your association's name?
This allows you to upload a graphic that your supporters will see at the top of the VoterVoice content when they view that on a mobile device. Without a mobile logo, they will see the name of your association.
Add a Custom Area to Your Election Center
Your Election Center shows your members a calendar of important dates, voting resources from their state, their current officials, candidates in their area, and more.
Whatever content you enter here will be shown between the calendar and voting resources. It's a great place to link to a legislative scorecard or show off information on any get-out-the-vote efforts you have planned. You can even upload a photo of your choosing to display on that same page.
